:::Day 3 (Saturday) - 11:03am:::

It has been over 24 hours since the last update on the blog and many might be wondering what happened!
Well, about 3pm yesterday afternoon the camp lost power, and we're not talking just portions or buildings, but the WHOLE camp! We're not completely for sure how it happened, but we believe that a semi hit a transformer that feed power into the camp. While it was a very hot afternoon with no air conditioning in any of the buildings, God supplied us with a nice steady and cool breeze to help us get through it. We ended up moving the worship service back and hour and had it in the Party Barn with a generator as our source of power for music and Steve's talk. Even without the normal setting and the normal ammenities, God showed why He is amazing and worthy of so much praise as many of the students hearts were being changed and moved through the service. We regained power for good about 10:15pm last night and were able to sleep comfortably and take a hot shower! With less than 24 hours left here at camp we know that God is going to continue to transform the lives of students from all of the churches; continue to pray that every student has their heart and mind open to what God is trying to tell them this weekend.

:::Day 2 (Saturday) - 8:03am:::

Something that is very typical of camp that you can count on seeing every year is a migration of early breakfast eaters to late breakfast eaters. This morning there were over 150 students that were standing in line at 8am waiting for the breakfast to open. As the days of camp get longer and sleep becomes more precious to the students the idea of getting up and being in line at 8am fades as they use every spare minute that they have to sleep and rest up. Tomorrow the numbers will decrease and by Monday morning the best time to get food will be at 8am.

:::Day 1 (Friday) - 10:45pm:::

The fireworks show just ended and it was incredible! It lasted a good 10 minutes, although we thought that it was over several times as they switched groupings. Later tomorrow we will put a video up of the fireworks show in high speed. Lights out is in another 45 minutes, but I think that most of our students are already in bed and ready to fall asleep. Tomorrow starts our first full day of camp, we can't wait to see what's ahead...

:::Day 1 (Friday) - 10:30pm:::

The service just ended and we are waiting for our first late night program, a fireworks show! The service was incredible tonight; Steve Farris, our camp pastor for the week, talked about how God loves each of us. He first used Psalms 139:17-18 to remind us that God's constantly thinks about us. Steve also used the story in the book of John (21:15-17) where Jesus asks Peter three times if he loves him as a way to show that God still loves us after our mistakes. While He doesn't like the sin that we have in our lives, He still loves us and wants what's best for us.

:::Day 1 (Friday) - 4:30pm:::

We just got to the camp and got all of the students moved into their dorms. All of them are looking around and trying to figure out what they are going to do first. Since this is the first year at Camp WOW everything is exciting and new. Right now most of the students are heading down to the water front to pass their swimming test so that they can participate in the BLOB, tubing, water slide drop, and all sorts of other stuff! Be back in a few hours with a report of the service.

:::Day 1 (Friday) - 2:21pm:::

As we pass through the fields and nothingness of towns in between McKinney and Sherman, the students are beginning to get quiet and relaxed. Several of the students are sleeping off their VBS week while others are playing cards and others are simply staring out the windows in a daze. They will wake up in a couple hours as we get closer to Camp WOW, but for now I for one am enjoying all tired voices that are choosing to rest.
